Five stars for Paula and her team! She made the redesign of our kitchen so easy! She gave us the guidance we needed throughout the process, has excellent taste and listened when we told her what we were looking for. She was easy to communicate with and kept the project moving along so we finished on schedule.  One of my favorite parts of the remodel is a light fixture that I never would have picked out for myself in a million years. Paula Ryan Design and her team gave our kitchen a much-needed facelift (painted our 30+ year old oak cabinets, installed new granite countertops, new sink and faucet) and basically gutted and redid our primary bath. Paula was great to work with! She is so personable, knowledgeable, and talented, and she really listened to what I wanted. I had limited time to pick out tile and granite. When I met her at the two stores, she had already narrowed down choices and showed me items within our budget, which helped immensely.

The tradesmen who did the work were all so pleasant, quick, and thorough - even my big dogs liked them! There was very little mess and dust during the project, much less than I had anticipated, as they cleaned up regularly.

The bathroom is now a beautiful, relaxing space and the kitchen is so much brighter and happier! Everyone who has seen it comments on how much bigger it looks and what a good job the workers did.

We bought our home new in '93. Thirty years later it was past-due for some updating of the kitchen and living spaces. Paula and her team met our expectations and then some. She planned around our style preferences, offered suggestions for better bangs within our budget and brought in the multiple projects within the scheduled timeline. Thank you so very much for all of your patience with us as we remodeled our master bathroom and bedroom and "freshened up” the rest of the house! We felt lost trying to tackle such a large project, but having you by our side throughout made the process so much easier. Your ideas, attention to detail, and dedication to our home were greatly appreciated! You encouraged me to go for it and the bold wallpaper, modern backsplash and show-stopping bathroom fixture became my favorite pieces! We shared lots of laughs and had tons of fun transforming our home and we look forward to working with you in the future. Thank you also to Brett Dalby, Joey and Larry who understood our vision and masterfully crafted gorgeous rooms in our home! We are extremely grateful!

Amazing communication and eye for detail!!!

Paula is truly unique in her approach to helping her customers. I’m a new investor in the short-term rental space (Airbnb) and was excited about my first property until it came time to furnish and decorate it. I was completely lost, and after countless trips to home goods and orders on amazon that just didn’t fit or accentuate the features of the property, I decided to turn to professional help. Paula really excelled in the categories that I believe are paramount in her craft

- Communication- She was clear in what her intentions were for my property. I was ignorant of several factors; budget, theme, and amenities that I would want my guests to have in order to stand out in a very competitive market. She walked me through what items would not have a good ROI as well as items I should invest a little more in that would save me money in the long term. She truly understands what appeals to guests and does a fantastic job of highlighting them throughout each space in the house to ensure a great experience for everyone!

- Adaptability- I made this job more difficult by trying to do it myself; had I hired her from the beginning, I could have saved myself a lot of stress and probably spent less. A lesson learned the hard way. Regardless, she found creative ways to tie in items that I thought were a lost cause.  The value of interior design seems to be overlooked by most investors. I spent weeks and a lot of money trying to put rooms together only for them to look clustered or just uninspired. I was baffled at the speed at which she knew how to make things pop and come alive. Paula’s passion for her craft really shines through and you can tell she has done the work to be truly great at making spaces inviting, comfortable, and unique.

- Integrity- This is where Paula stands out from the rest! After reading reviews and Reddit threads on horror stories from Airbnb furnishing and interior design services, I was apprehensive, this was my first property and I wanted everything to be perfect. To hand someone the keys to a credit card and the success of your Airbnb can be an overwhelming event. Paula is a small business owner and understands that transparency, timelines, and budget matter! She finished my property promptly and was very cost-conscious of every purchase as though it was her own money.

When my listing went live I was instantly booked months out and have all 5-star reviews to date. Airbnb runs an algorithm that populates new and highly rated properties to the top of searches. Paula is the key to happy guests and a successful Airbnb. When the success of your property hinges on first impressions, can you afford to get it wrong? Paula did an outstanding job in creating a complete home remodel with open floor plan.  Our kitchen and family room are better than we could have imagined.  The crew (Brett, Joey, and Larry) were amazingly talented and professional!  Brett provided creative solutions to achieve our vision for our home.
Our neighbor’s compliment said it all, “Your home looks like it came out of a magazine.”  That would not have happened without Paula’s vision, eye for design and functionality, and color choices.  She definitely saved us from making the wrong decisions by keeping us on track with our central design theme.

Paula’s husband Mike Ryan’s company built our house in 2001. Paula helped us pick out colors, finishes, lighting, flooring, and just about everything else.   When we decided to do some updating 20 years later, we went back to Paula to help us. We were comfortable with her and knew that she would do a great job.   She has a great eye for design, colors and how everything will look when it’s all done.   Our first floor remodeling project included our entire kitchen, half bath, dining room, living room, and laundry room.  We replaced all the flooring and painted our family room, living and dining rooms along with the main floor hall and upstairs hall.  We also replaced all of the lighting and two ceiling fans.  It was a really big project but Paula and her crew (Brett, Larry, and Joey) were always competent, reliable, and responsive. Paula is the only designer for us! Paula helped us design our restaurant, Luminary, from start to finish. It was such a huge undertaking to think of everything from the floor to sinks to countertops and tiles and paint! She understood the big picture and how to break that down into little tasks that were manageable to make decisions on. The whole way through the buildout she helped be our point of contact with the contractors to ensure everything happened in the right order so we did not have to double back. She has really become a great friend. It takes a lot of personal and professional investment to undertake a project of this size with someone. She is responsive, honest, and did not try to push high dollar projects on us. She was clear as to where you invest larger amounts of money so they last forever and where you can be more frugal. Money well spent!!! Wish i could give 6 stars! I cannot say enough how glad I am that we hired Paula to consult throughout our home renovation.

We’re handy DIYers, but not the best when it comes to colors, trends, etc. - so we hired Paula (her rate was very reasonable) to advise us throughout the project and prevent us from making decisions we certainly would have regretted.

Going into it, we had ideas of what colors we wanted, and are so glad we had Paula provide her input. Had we gone with our original plan, I’m certain we would have regretted it. She came to our house, and brought several color samples, “vision boards” for various styles and current tends and educated us on how colors compliment and clash. She guided us in choosing the ideal colors, fixtures, and furniture for our flooring, walls, and cabinets in our bedrooms, living room, and kitchen.

Not only are we incredibly pleased our finished work, but her advice and guidance probably helped us save as much (if not more) than we spent on her services.

She has won me over for future projects. Even though we like to do a bunch of work ourselves, it is invaluable to have her eye and talent to ensure our work won’t be a waste because we didn’t think it through.

She offers everything from design consulting for the DIYers to full service design and construction.
